DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina men's cross country team earned a seventh-place finish at the 9
th Annual UNG Invitational, which took place Friday evening.
Piedmont won the meet. Georgia College was second while Covenant was third in the nine-team field.
Rookie
Patrick Davis led the Pacers in the 5k event. He notched a time of 16:41, taking 17
th in the event. Fellow newcomer
Julian Mendoza was not far behind him, finishing in a solid 17:51 for 34
th place.
Senior
David Weidner started his final campaign with a time of 18:35 for 41
st place. Transfer
David Witt finished a mere two seconds behind Weidner for 42
nd place.
The trio of
Joshua Whitley,
Julian Salas and
Kyle Ready formed a solid pack, finishing back-to-back-to-back. Whitley (47
th) crossed the line in 20:39 while Salas posted a time of 20:43. Ready took 49
th in 20:55.
The Pacers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Converse Invitational.
