AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout
Alie Smith was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® NCAA Division II volleyball team for District No. 3, selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Smith, a native of St. Johns, Fla., sports a 3.40 GPA in nursing and will graduate in December.
The outside hitter has etched her name throughout the record books on the court. The first five-time all-PBC performer in the league's volleyball history, Smith is one of five student-athletes in school history with at least 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. She is one of three student-athletes with over 1,500 kills.
Smith holds the school record for career double-doubles during the rally-scoring era with 67. She also holds the PBC record for career kills during the 25-point rally scoring era with 1,665 heading into the PBC Tournament.
Smith is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.
