In the match against Anderson, the Olson twins – Willa and Gressa – teamed up again for another score.
Willa Olson found
Gressa Olson off a free kick for the team's lone score of the contest. It marked the second time the duo has teamed up for a goal this year. The dyad has assisted and/or scored on all four goals in 2019.
Looking For The First One
USC Aiken is looking for its first win of the season. The squad lost a hard-fought contest at Belmont Abbey 4-3 in the opener. After dropping a contest at Lenoir-Rhyne, the squad battled against Anderson, but came up short, 2-1. The team fell at Catawba on Sept. 14, but the team is ready to rebound from the outing.
Multiple Keepers
This season, head coach
Hilary George has played three goalkeepers.
Reese McCormick has played 229:55 between the pipes while
Madi Banks has played 81:16.
Makenzie Maxwell has seen 48:49 in goal. The three have combined for 38 saves on the year.
Pushing Forward
At Catawba, USC Aiken fell behind 3-0 in the first half, but the team continued to push forward. In fact, the squad registered seven second-half shots compared to six in the first frame. Of the 13 shots in the contest, 10 were on goal.
Inside The Numbers Â
This week, USC Aiken hosts Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday, Sept. 25 before playing at Clayton State on Saturday, Sept. 28. Since the start of the program, the Pacers 40-69-10 (37.8 percent) in Wednesday contests. The team is 39-98-8 (29.7 percent) in Saturday matches. During the same time, the squad is 3-4-1 on Sept. 25 and 0-4 on Sept. 28.
Against The Opponents
This week, USC Aiken hosts Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday, Sept. 25 before playing at Clayton State on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Pacers are 3-1 in the all-time series against the Warriors, having won the last three contests.
