AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Mitch Spence has been named the PBC Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office.

Spence, a junior right-handed hurler from Cary, N.C., was outstanding in his two performances last week.

In the mid-week game at Wingate, Spence struck out a batter while throwing just one inning.

In the home game against Augusta on Friday, Spence went the distance on the mound. He threw a complete game, tossing 118 pitches. Spence struck out a career-high 16 batters and gave up just one run on three hits in the 2-1 victory.
