USC Aiken Inks Outstanding Class

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken, in conjunction with head volleyball coach Glenn Cox, is pleased to announce the addition of seven student-athletes.

Cat Bodick, Sydney Bresee, Sophia Hoffman, Emily Lammers, Sophie Meredith, Alisha Pitt and Kaitlyn Rodriguez will continue their education and playing careers at USC Aiken starting in the fall of 2020.

"We are extremely excited about this group of signees," Cox said. "This group of incoming players comes in with solid resumes that include a handful of state championships in addition to some very high-level club accolades and experience. They all bring in a wealth of volleyball IQ and will surely continue our winning tradition over the next four years here as Pacers." 

Bodick is a 6-0 outside hitter from Mooresville, N.C. The multi-sport student-athlete guided Davidson Day School to the Class 2-A state championship as a senior. Bodick was named to the Best of the Carolinas all-tournament team and had 221 kills to go along with 67 blocks her last two seasons.

Bresee is a 5-11 middle blocker from Fuquay-Varina, N.C. She attends Fuquay-Varina H.S., earning all-region honors as a junior. The two-time all-league selection posted 183 kills and 343 digs as a senior. Bresee is a two-time team MVP.

Hoffman is a 5-8 outside hitter from Littleton, Colo. She attends D'Evelyn H.S., where she was a three-time all-conference selection. Hoffman guided her team to a pair of regional championships and to a pair of state-qualifying appearances. Hoffman tallied over 1,000 career digs in her career and accounted for over 350 kills her last two seasons.

Lammers is a 5-9 outside hitter from Fort Mill, S.C. She attends Nation Ford H.S., where she earned all-state honors as a senior. The three-time all-region selection was on the Under Armour All-American Watch List. Lammers guided Nation Ford H.S. to a pair of Class 5-A state championships and was on the AVCA Phenom List. She posted 732 kills, 185 aces and 693 digs her final two seasons.

Meredith is a 5-8 setter from Charleston, S.C. She attends Oceanside Collegiate Academy and was a two-time all-state selection. Meredith was the Region Player of the Year as a senior and set the school record with over 2,500 assists.

Pitt is a 6-0 middle blocker from Plymouth, N.C. She attends Spring Valley H.S. The all-region honoree is a three-time Best Offensive Player award winner and was twice named Best Blocker. Pitt slammed home 237 kills and hit .318 as a junior.

Rodriguez is a 5-10 outside hitter from Marietta, Ga. She attends the Walker School and is a three-time all-state selection. Rodriguez was the State Player of the Year as a sophomore. She earned all-region honors four times. In her career, she had over 1,500 kills and 1,000 digs.
