AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout
Kelsey Spurlin is a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, which was announced Thursday.
Spurlin, a senior from Gaffney, S.C., is the reigning 2018 PBC Elite 15 award winner. The right side from Gaffney, S.C., has played in 15 matches, totaling 37 sets. She has 59 kills on the year to go along with 70 digs and five aces. Earlier in the week, Spurlin was named to the PBC all-academic team. She currently sports a 4.0 GPA and is majoring in education.
The 2019 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
