Career Night
In the victory over Lander last week, USC Aiken standout
Christine Carroll hammered home a career-high 26 kills while hitting .451. It marked the third time in four matches she secured at least 20 kills. In the two contests against the Bearcats, Carroll is averaging 25.5 kills and established career-high efforts in each contest.
Another Double-Double
Against the Bearcats,
Alie Smith registered her sixth consecutive double-double effort after totaling 19 kills and 15 digs. It marked Smith's 14
th double-double effort on the year and the 43
rd of her career. Smith is in fourth place on the USC Aiken career double-double list (non-side-out scoring).
Block Party
Rookie
Abbey Schad is having a solid season – and it stayed that way against Lander. She accounted for a match-high four solo blocks, which also marked a career high for her. It marked the third time in her career Schad secured at least four total blocks in a contest (West Florida and Mars Hill).
Closing In
Senior
Rebecca Martinez is closing in on the PBC all-time career digs record of 2,504. After last week, Martinez has 2,486 in her career, including 613 this season. Only three student-athletes in the history of the PBC have at least 2,300 digs.
Inside The Numbers
This week, USC Aiken plays at Augusta on Friday, Nov. 15 and at Georgia College on Saturday, Nov. 16. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 191-123 in Friday contests (60.8 percent) and 230-141 (62.0 percent) in Saturday affairs. During the same time, the team is 4-5 on Nov. 15 and 3-2 on Nov. 16.
Against The Opponents
This week, USC Aiken plays at Augusta on Friday, Nov. 15 and at Georgia College on Saturday, Nov. 16. The Pacers hold a 47-18 edge in the all-time series against Augusta and lead the all-time series against the Bobcats 15-4.
