USC Aiken Volleyball Notes - Week 11

Throughout the 2019 season, the USC Aiken Athletic Communications office will provide weekly notes, giving all of Pacer Nation an in-depth look at the team.

Career Night

In the victory over Lander last week, USC Aiken standout Christine Carroll hammered home a career-high 26 kills while hitting .451. It marked the third time in four matches she secured at least 20 kills. In the two contests against the Bearcats, Carroll is averaging 25.5 kills and established career-high efforts in each contest.

Another Double-Double

Against the Bearcats, Alie Smith registered her sixth consecutive double-double effort after totaling 19 kills and 15 digs. It marked Smith's 14th double-double effort on the year and the 43rd of her career. Smith is in fourth place on the USC Aiken career double-double list (non-side-out scoring).

Block Party

Rookie Abbey Schad is having a solid season – and it stayed that way against Lander. She accounted for a match-high four solo blocks, which also marked a career high for her. It marked the third time in her career Schad secured at least four total blocks in a contest (West Florida and Mars Hill).

Closing In

Senior Rebecca Martinez is closing in on the PBC all-time career digs record of 2,504. After last week, Martinez has 2,486 in her career, including 613 this season. Only three student-athletes in the history of the PBC have at least 2,300 digs.
