Two Double-Doubles
Junior
Alie Smith and Senior
Kelsey Spurlin put up big numbers in the victory over Lincoln Memorial last week. The dyad accounted for 29 kills and 29 digs. Smith notched 19 kills and 15 digs while Spurlin totaled 10 kills and 14 digs.
Carroll's Career High
In the win over the Railsplitters,
Christine Carroll had a solid night offensively, but came up huge defensively. The senior middle blocker stuffed seven shots by the designated visitors. Two blocks were of the solo variety while five were on block assists.
Top-10 Performances
In the sweep at Mars Hill,
Christine Carroll and
Alli Bell registered top-10 performances in school history. Bell dished out 48 assists in the sweep, marking the second-most assists in a three-set match in school history. Carroll's 17 kills marked the ninth-most kills in a three-match set in school history.
Movin' On Up
Over the weekend, senior
Rebecca Martinez became the PBC career leader for digs in the 25-point rally scoring era. Martinez surpassed Casey Gnann of Flagler (2,248) to move into first place on the list. Additionally, she surpassed Andrea Laza of UNCP (2,261) for second on the overall career chart for any era.
Speaking French Â
Redshirt-sophomore
Brittany French garnered the start in the win over Mars Hill Saturday afternoon and responded in fine fashion. She hit .308 and posted six kills on 13 swings. Heading into the match, French had four career kills. It marked her first extended action in her career.
Inside The Numbers
This week, USC Aiken plays at Paine on Tuesday, Oct. 15 before hosting Georgia College on Friday, Oct. 18 and Augusta on Saturday, Oct. 19. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 58-27 (68.6 percent) in Tuesday contests, 189-122 (60.8 percent)Â in Friday matches and 228-141 (61.8 percent) in Saturday affairs. During the same time, the squad is 8-3 on Oct. 15, 9-3 on Oct. 18 and 7-0 on Oct. 19.
Against The Opponents
