Throughout the 2018 season, the USC Aiken Athletic Communications office will provide weekly notes, giving all of Pacer Nation an in-depth look at the team.
First Match, First Goal
Senior
Yasmine Vanden-Bossche put forth an outstanding effort in her first career match for the Pacers. She promptly tallied the team's first goal of the season in the 2-1 loss at Mars Hill.
Sharing Is Caring
Sophomore
Lauryn Laslie registered her first career point last week. She found a slicing
Yasmine Vanden-Bossche with under 10 minutes to play for the first goal of the match for the visitors. It also marked her first career assist.
Playing A SAC Schedule
Head coach
Hilary George's team scheduled a handful of South Atlantic Conference teams to start the season. After scheduling an exhibition with Newberry, the team also had Mars Hill, Lenoir-Rhyne and Catawba on the slate. After a contest against North Greenville, the Pacers returned to SAC competition with a contest against Lincoln Memorial.
Coming Through, Nothing To See Here
The Pacers were slated to play at Lenoir-Rhyne last Saturday, but inclement weather forced the teams to cancel the match. The squad had already traveled to Hickory, N.C., for the match. Despite discussing it, the teams could not find another workable date for a make-up contest.
TK Almost Had The TKO
Sophomore
Tashiana Kwatowski nearly sent USC Aiken to a 1-0 win over Catawba. Off a set piece, she managed to slide through the box and get her foot on the cross. The ball narrowly missed finding the back of the net, which would have given the Pacers the win.
Home Sweet Home
The USC Aiken women's soccer team played on the road last week, but now returns to Pacer Pit for the next four contests, spanning just under two weeks of play.
