Prior to the start of fall practice, USC Aiken wants to take one last look back at the top-10 moments from the 2017-18 athletic seasons. Over the next three weeks, we will post the list!
One of the best moments encapsulated a pair of performances by the men's soccer team. The squad registered back-to-back shutouts over Erskine and Georgia Southwestern, marking the first time the squad had done that since the 2014 season in wins over Coker and Montevallo by identical 3-0 scores.
USC Aiken Shuts Down Erskine, 3-0
DUE WEST, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team posted a 3-0 victory at Erskine Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest.
The Pacers are now 2-2-1 on the season heading into PBC play.

Andre Simmond at the 8:20 mark for what turned out to be the match-winning goal.
The Pacers added to their advantage two minutes later.Â
Kento Ito blasted a shot toward the frame that was saved, but USC Aiken earned a corner kick.Â

Thomas Kretschmar for his first score as a Pacer, giving the visitors a 2-0 lead.
USC Aiken maintained the 2-0 advantage through the end of the first half and nearly the entire match. However, Ofoje's team continued pushing forward and registered a positive result in the 88th minute.
On a breakaway,Â
Roberto Biendicho booted the ball past the keeper with just 2:43 left in the match for the 3-0 score.
For the match, USC Aiken held a 16-7 advantage in shots, including a 10-2 edge in shots on goal. The visitors totaled six corner kicks compared to one by the home team.
Chase Boulton played all 90 minutes between the pipes. He stopped two shots in the shutout.

USC Aiken Knock Off Georgia Southwestern In PBC Opener
AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Georgia Southwestern Saturday afternoon in the PBC opener.
The Pacers are now 3-2-1 on the season and 1-0 in league play. The Hurricanes are now 3-3-1 overall and 0-1 against conference competition.
After dominating possession early in the match, head coachÂ
Ike Ofoje's team broke through with a goal at the 22:15 mark.Â
Driss Baraket dribbled the ball toward the end-line and played it back to the top of the box.Â
Kento Ito took possession and rocketed the ball past the keeper for the 1-0 edge.
In the second half, Jorvel Tobierre andÂ
Machi Provost had shots that were stopped by the keeper in the first eight minutes of action.
Baraket beat the defense in the 57th minute of play and blasted an attempt that sailed just wide of the frame. Ito had one of his blocked 50 seconds later.
Biendicho had an excellent attempt in the 71st minute, but it was wide of the frame. Baraket rocketed a shot toward the goal, but it was stopped by the keeper at the 75:43 mark.

Andre Simmond booted a shot from 25 yards out. The ball curled to the left, but the GSW keeper managed to dive to his right for the save.
For the match, USC Aiken outshot the Hurricanes 20-7, including 9-1 on goal.
Chase Boulton played all 90 minutes between the pipes in the win. He registered one save on the day.
