AIKEN, S.C. - Hannah Allison netted two goals, helping the University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over visiting Emmanuel Saturday evening.

The Pacers are now 1-0-1 on the season.

After a scoreless first period, USC Aiken broke the ice in the 52nd minute. After earning a corner kick, Jenna Beauregard laced a well-played ball to the near side of the post. Hannah Allison jumped over a defender and easily headed it home for a 1-0 edge.

The Pacers seemed to have control of the match, but the Lions broke through at the 61:39 mark, evening the contest at 1-1.

Just two minutes later, Allison took a pass played in by Tori Caldwell and used her head once again, giving the home team a 2-1 advantage.

Head coach Sue Vodicka's team would not be challenged seriously the rest of the way. The Pacers maintained possession of the ball and when the visitors had possession, the defense quickly took it away from them.

USC Aiken out-shot the visitors 16-8 and posted eight shots on goal to five by Emmanuel. 
Nicole Cranny stopped four shots between the pipes while playing all 90 minutes.

The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they travel to Lenoir-Rhyne for a 5 p.m., match.
