Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SAVANNAH, Ga.--USC Aiken's softball team suffered a doubleheader sweep at the hands of seventh ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University today in Savannah, Ga. The Pirates won the first game 8-0 in five innings and took game two by a 3-0 score. The Lady Pacers end their regular season with a 30-27 overall record and an 8-12 Peach Belt Conference mark. AASU improves to 35-4 and 13-3 in league play.

Armstrong came out in game one and plated six runs in the second inning – capped by Chelce Culberson's grand slam – off of USC Aiken starter Amy Fox. The Pirates finished the game in the fifth with two runs on a run scoring single by Jenny Alfirov and an RBI groundout by Lindsay Phillips to win, 8-0.

Katya Eronina pitched four no-hit innings, striking out seven, to pick up the win, while Fox (6-7) gave up eight hits and eight runs in four and two-thirds innings to take the loss.

Sarah Harvey accounted for the lone USCA hit when she singled to center field in the fifth inning.

Eronina wasn't through. She came back in game two and hurled a complete game, four hit, shutout. The Pirate hurler struck out eight on her way to her 28th consecutive win, which ties for the fifth longest streak in NCAA Division II history. 

Junior Stacy Oliver put AASU on the board with a solo home run in the fourth inning. Valeria Silvestrini followed with a two-run shot to left center field in the fifth. Silvestrini finished one-for-three with two RBIs. Oliver went two-for-three with a run scored and an RBI. 

JoAnn Jones (12-11) went the distance for USC Aiken, giving up seven hits and three runs. Kelly Ford, Brooke McSwain, Regan Reeves and Jayme Durand each went one-for-three at the plate for the Lady Pacers.

USC Aiken has concluded its 2004 regular season schedule and will now prepare for the Peach Belt Conference Tournament which begins on April 16, in Spartanburg, S.C. The Lady Pacers' first round opponent has not been determined.
