Box Score 2 AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken won both games of a doubleheader today against Bellarmine University from Louisville, Ky. The Pacers won both games by a 13-2 score, at J.H. Satcher Field in Aiken.
Leroy Walker went six-for-eight with three runs scored and six RBIs in both games combined. USCA improves to 12-9 overall while the Knights fall to 1-9 on the season.
The Pacers scored all the runs they would need in the bottom of the second inning. With the game tied and two outs, USCA strung together three consecutive base hits. The third came from
Casey Calhoun and scored
Walker to give USC Aiken the lead for good. After
Clint Keown walked,
Ashley Farr knocked in two runs with a single to right field and put the Pacers in front 4-1.
An RBI ground out in the fifth inning by Jeremy Holland drew Bellarmine to within three runs, 5-2. USC Aiken put the game out of reach in the bottom half of the inning.
Chris Sheehan's two run home run was part of a three run inning that gave the Pacers an 8-2 advantage.
USCA added five more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With an 11-run lead, the game was ended after seven innings.
Mike Pomaville went the distance for the Pacers, earning his third win of the season against two defeats. The junior right-hander allowed four hits, two runs, one earned run, walked three batters and struck out five. Jason Bibelhauser took the loss for the Knights. He pitched five innings and allowed 16 hits, 13 runs, walked two and struck out just one Pacer batter.
Farr had three RBIs and two hits in four at bats in game one.
Sheehan hit safely three times and had two RBIs in his four at bats.
USC Aiken got another solid pitching performance in game two as well.
Wes McColl went six innings allowing just two hits, two earned runs, two walks and four strike outs on his way to improving his record on the season to 3-2.
Steve Polio's two-out home run over the left field fence gave the Knights a 2-1 lead after two and a half innings. The Pacers answered in the bottom of the third with four runs.
Demetrick Drumming had an RBI single and
Bradley Key scored on a pass ball to put USCA in front 3-2.
Walker's double two batters later scored
Drumming and
Sheehan and gave USC Aiken a three run lead.
The Pacers added two more runs in the fifth and six runs in the sixth to post another 13-2 win.

Brandon Beaulieu each went three-for-four in game two.
Game one of the twin bill was originally scheduled for Friday night. Bellarmine's team bus was delayed for four hours by a major accident in Atlanta and did not arrive in Aiken until after 9:00 p.m. The bus was not involved in the accident.
The Pacers and Knights will finish their three game series tomorrow. The first pitch at J.H. Satcher Field on the USC Aiken campus is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
