Box Score AIKEN, SC--The USC Aiken Pacers (17-8) continued its winning ways with an 8-5 victory over Lindsey Wilson at J.H. Satcher Field on Thursday. The Pacers take the two-game series after posting a 13-2 victory last night.
The Pacers opened the scoring in the first inning with a pair of runs on a two-run home run by
Demetrick Drumming, his 11th bomb of the season. The Pacers started freshman
Henry Elwyn on the hill against the Blue Raiders.
Elwyn, in his first collegiate start, didn't factor into the decision, but looked good through the first two innings. However, in the third, the Blue Raiders began to hit him.
After the Pacers tallied one more run in the second as
Leroy Walker grounded out to second base, but
Tony Hanks scored from third for the 3-0 lead. The Blue Raiders made a furious comeback in the top of the third, posting five runs on five hits.

Kenny Thomas headed to the hill to talk things over with his young pitcher. After a discussion, the Pacers decided to go with
Rob Wilhite.
Elwyn went two-and-one-third innings, allowing seven hits, five runs all earned and one strikeout.
Wilhite looked in complete control, as LWC was unable to score any more runs the rest of the game. The Pacers scored four times in the sixth inning highlighted by a three-run double down the left field line by
Tavis Cummings, giving the Pacers the lead for good.
Chad McMurray came into the game in relief of Wilhite to close out the contest.
McMurray earned his first save of the season in three innings of work. He only gave up two hits. Wilhite (1-0) went three-and-two-thirds, only allowing one hit walking three and striking-out eight.
After the third inning, the Blue Raiders were only able to get three hits off the Pacer relievers. USCA will get back into conference action this weekend at Kennesaw State. The Pacers will return home for a single game against Belmont Abby next Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
