AIKEN, S.C. – The USC Aiken women's soccer team fought hard for 90 minutes but fell 6-1 to Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Pacers held Pfeiffer to just two goals in the first half before surrendering four unanswered goals in the second half.
Leading the attack for the Lady Falcons was freshman Kelly Lehman, who scored two goals within seven minutes in the second half. Pfeiffer attacked USCA goalkeeper,
Gretchen Honaker, all day long as they finished with 37 shots. The Lady Pacers were held to just five shots (all in the second half).
Pfeiffer's goalkeeper, Edie Overturf, almost posted a shutout on the afternoon before freshman Jacqueline Francois found the net (assisted by
Christy Cousins) for her fifth goal in the first two games at the 2:05 mark. Francois battled the flu for most of the game.
Next women's game is at home Monday against Spartanburg Methodist at 4 p.m.
