AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken softball standout Hanna Hyder has been named the Willie Jewell's USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 26, 2017.

Hyder, a native of Aiken, S.C., led the Pacers to a 4-2 week.

In the 3-2 win at Converse, she registered a pinch-hit in the sixth inning that drove in the game-tying run. Hyder got the starting nod in the following game and went two-for-three with a double.

She posted a pair of hits against Pfeiffer. In the first game against Claflin, Hyder had a pair of hits, including a walk-off game-winning double. She also had a base knock in the nightcap.

For the week, Hyder went eight-for-17 with a pair of extra base hits. She recorded at least one hit in all six games. Hyder batted .471 on the week. She slugged .588 and held a .526 on-base percentage.

The Willie Jewell's USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
