AIKEN, S.C. – The
Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USCA Student-Athlete of the Week is golf standout Mitchell McNeill.
McNeill, a junior from North Augusta, S.C., had an outstanding week in the team's fist competition of the semester. He helped the team to a seventh-place finish in the 18-team tournament.
At the Wexford Invitational, McNeill earned a top-10 finish with his seventh-place performance against an all-Division I field.
He opened the event by shooting two-under par, 70, during the first round. Mitchell notched a four-under par, 68, during the second round of action. He recorded a four-over par during the final 18 holes of play.
Mitchell wrapped up the tournament at two-under par, 214. It marked his second top-10 finish of the year, having registered a third-place effort at the Savannah Lakes Men's Fall Invitational Sept. 8-9.
He is currently ranked 24
th in the region and 86
th nationally with a 71.7 adjusted scoring average.
