AIKEN, S.C. – USCA men's basketball standout
Jalen McCoy has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for January.
McCoy, a redshirt-senior from Raleigh, N.C. guided the Pacers to a 6-2 month.
He averaged a team-best 17.8 points during the eight-game stretch. McCoy drained 54-of-110 shots from the floor (49.1 percent) and canned 33-of-40 (82.5 percent) from the charity stripe.
McCoy pulled down 56 rebounds, including 25 on the offensive glass. He dished out 11 assists, recorded eight steals and blocked five shots.
He scored 30 points against Columbia International and posted two 20-plus point outings. McCoy dropped 23 points in the win at Flagler before notching a 25-point, 12-rebound contest in the victory over Georgia Southwestern.
For the year, McCoy leads the way with 19.4 points per game and is draining 53.6 percent of his shots from the floor.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2024-25 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
