University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout Emily Teelon has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month for her efforts in the month of October.
Teelon, a 5-9 junior setter from Aiken, S.C., guided the Pacers to an 11-0 month and a 22-3 overall record, including an 11-2 mark against conference foes.
She picked up Peach Belt Conference Specialist of the Week accolades on three occasions.
Teelon recorded five double-double performances and nearly notched a triple-double in the month. She accounted for a season-best 55 assists against Mars Hill and Flagler while recording at least 40 assists in 10 contests. Teelon registered 50-plus assists four times.
For the month, she totaled 505 assists, 107 digs, 39 kills, 16 blocks and 15 aces.
Teelon is seventh in USC Aiken history with 1,999 career assists. Her 924 assists this season are 11
th most in a single season in school history.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2016-17 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
