AIKEN, S.C. – The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Week is softball standout Lakyn Phillips.

A native of Lexington, S.C., Phillips went 3-0 on the week in the circle for the Pacers.

She struck out 22 batters in 16 innings of work. Phillips gave up just four runs, three of which were earned, on the week. She walked six batters.

Phillips tossed two complete games and started three contests. She had a 1.31 ERA for the week.

In the win over USC Beaufort, Phillips struck out six batters. At GCSU, she struck out a season-best 11 batters in the 11-2 victory.

Phillips got the starting nod on Sunday and struck out five in the series finale win over the Bobcats.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
