AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken women’s cross country standout Sophie King has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 20, 2019.

King helped the Pacers claim their first team win since 2014.

King is a sophomore from Aiken, S.C.

She won the USC Aiken Invitational with a 5k time of 23:49. It marked the lone meet she competed in for the week.

Throughout the season, King has been a force on the team, leading the squad in virtually every meet.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
