Heading into the final regular-season meet during the 2025 campaign, first-year head coach
Jim Sprecher's team had shown consistent improvement.
With two weeks between races, the Pacers were ready for the Sand Shark Invitational, and it paid off with high marks. Collectively, the team put forth a fourth-place finish, marking the program's best finish of the season.
The squad had four student-athletes post top-30 marks –
Alaynah Guthrie,
Jenna Couch,
Bailey Kirkland and
Emma Cox.
Guthrie registered a 12
th-place finish at the meet with a time of 19:11.4. The time was not just the best for the team during the meet, but it shattered the program's 5k record by five seconds.
The previous time of 19:16.4 occurred during the 2023 PBC Championship – on Oct. 21. Nearly two years to the day, Guthrie posted the best mark of her career.
