CHARLOTTE, N.C. – USCA women's cross country standout
Linah Ewoi shattered the 5k school record at the Queen City Invite Friday evening.
Head coach
Jim Sprecher's team was paced by Ewoi's time of 19:08.5, which bested the previous school record by three seconds. Her time was good enough for 33
rd place at the meet, which had numerous Division I schools competing in the 26-team field.
Fellow teammate
Rebecca Jepngtich's time of 19:29.8 marked the fifth-fasted time in school history. Her mark was good enough for 37
th place.
Alaynah Guthrie, the previous school record holder, crossed the finish line in 51
st place with a time of 20:04.5. Newcomer
Sharly Cherop garnered 64
th place with a time of 20:20.4.
Kendall Reynolds accounted for 97
h place after crossing the line in 21:56.8.
Hattie Merryman turned in a time of 23:17.5, which was good enough for 117
th place.
Sophia Aurah notched a time of 24:59.1 for 130
th place.
Lacie Cinnamon registered a time of 25:35.7 at her second collegiate race.
Elon won the meet. Charlotte and North Florida rounded out the top three teams. USCA recorded 282 points for 10
th place.
The Pacers return to action Friday, Sept. 25, when they travel to Middle Georgia for the PBC Preview.
