AIKEN, S.C. – USCA had many thrilling moments throughout the action-packed 2025-26 season. On the diamond, on the court, on the course, on the pitch and on the links, PacerSports.com will highlight an unforgettable moment from each team.
With a 6-6-3 record entering a mid-week late-night contest on Oct. 29 against region foe Wingate, head coach
Adam Kleman's team faced a tough challenge, but the team was up for the contest.
In the first half, the Bulldogs were the aggressor, recording 13 shots, including nine on target. However, rookie keeper
Savannah Yerger kept the visitors off the scoreboard. Some saves seemed routine while others were highlight-reel worthy.
Entering the second period of action, the score remained knotted at 0-0. It stayed that way until Yerger played the ball up the pitch. Eventually, it found the boot of
Cassidy Wines, who promptly rocketed the ball past the keeper in the upper left of the frame for what turned out to be the match-winning score.
In the waning moments, the defense stood tall, keeping Wingate at bay while preserving the shutout victory.
Kleman's team became the first in the program's history to defeat the Bulldogs. Additionally, the squad moved to 7-6-3 on the year, 21 student-athletes saw the pitch that night, Yerger posted 15 saves and Wines scored her first career goal.
