AUGUSTA, Ga. – USCA baseball standout Hunter Thompson has been named the PBC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office.

A first baseman from Evans, Ga., Thompson went six-for-16 at the plate during the four-game stretch.

In the win over No. 9 Catawba, he singled and drove in a run. In the series opener at Georgia College, Thompson crushed two home runs, drove in a career-high six runs and scored twice.

Thompson singled in a pair of runs in game two of the series before wrapping up the week with a pair of hits and one RBI against the Bobcats.

For the week, he drove in 10 runs and scored twice. 

In the field, Thompson had 26 putouts and one assist while sporting a 1.000 fielding percentage.
