AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken had many thrilling moments throughout the action-packed 2023-2024 season. In his second year leading the USC Aiken women's cross country team, head coach
Marshall Leonard's squad turned in a solid outing at the PBC Championship.
Individually, rookie
Tess Studley shattered the school's 5k record with a personal-best time of 19:16 while teammate
Taylor Joop notched her season-best time of 19:45.
Newcomer
Alaynah Guthrie registered an outstanding mark of 20:42, which was 1:25 faster than her previous personal-best time.
Amaiyah Smith notched a season-best time of 21:00 while
Bailey Kirkland crossed the finish line in 21:50. Kirkland's time was 2:03 faster than her previous personal-best effort.
By running the times they did, the student-athletes guided the Pacers to a seventh-place effort at the PBC Championship, marking their best performance at the league meet in recent history.
