Volleyball | November 21, 2024

AUGUSTA, Ga. – USCA volleyball standouts Emily Lammers, Sadie McKay and Tabor Scanlon have been recognized by the PBC for their outstanding play during the 2024 regular season.

Lammers picked up first-team honors while McKay garnered second-team accolades as well as PBC co-Libero/Defensive Specialist of the Year. Scanlon garnered PBC co-Freshmen of the Year honors.

Lammers, a redshirt-senior from Fort Mill, S.C., earned her second all-league regular-season honor after being named to the second team in 2022. A 2023 PBC all-tournament team honoree, Lammers led head coach Glenn Cox's team with 230 points. She tallied a team-high 198 kills and 22 aces on the season. Lammers was second on the squad with 165 digs (2.32 digs/set) and was third on the squad with 20 total blocks. In the regular-season finale against Flagler, Lammers became the seventh USCA student-athlete to register 1,000 kills in a career during the 25-point rally scoring era.

McKay, a senior from Bellville, Texas, moved into the libero role this season after three standout years as an outside hitter. She tallied a team-high 285 digs and notched 4.13 digs per set on the year. McKay had at least 20 digs seven times this year, including a career-best of 26 at Francis Marion. With McKay earning the co-Libero/Defensive Specialists of the Year honor, it marks the eighth time in the program's history a Pacer has won the award (2010 – Samantha Lukralle, 2016 – Danielle Mercer, 2017, 2018, 2019 – Rebecca Martinez, 2020, 2021 – Kari Mercer).

Scanlon, a native of Lansing, Kan., was sensational in the 6-2 offense. She posted a team-high 380 assists (5.35/set) and served up 21 aces on the year. Scanlon erupted for a career-high 29 assists at Flagler. The newcomer notched five double-double efforts on the season, including a 25-assist, 14-dig contest in the win over Carson-Newman. Scanlon is the third student-athlete in the program's history to pick up PBC Freshmen of the Year honors (2002 – Amy Long and 2012 – Ashley Diedrich).
