DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The USCA women's cross country team earned a sixth-place finish at the PBC Championship Saturday.
Flagler won the PBC Championship with 19 points. Augusta (45 points) and North Georgia (73 points) rounded out the top three teams. Georgia College & State University was fourth (111 points) while Lander was fifth (166 points). USCA tallied 169 points.
Clayton State (197 points), Columbus State (249 points), USC Beaufort (260 points) and Georgia Southwestern (288 points) rounded out the 10-team field.
Head coach
Marshall Leonard's team was led by
Gabrielle Jourdain's 28
th-place finish. She crossed the finish line in 19:44.3, which is tied for the fifth-best mark in school history.
Tess Studley turned in her best effort of the season for 30
th place. She registered a time of 19:48.6.
After missing the previous race,
Alaynah Guthrie posted a personal-best time of 20:07.6, which was good enough for 34
th place.
Emma Cox and
Sydney Fallin were 38
th and 39
th, respectively. Cox crossed the finish line in 20:42.9 while Fallin notched a time of 21:03.5.
Taylor Joop, the PBC Elite 18 award winner, concluded the race in 23:28.8, which was good enough for 51
st.
The Pacers return to action Saturday, Nov. 9 when they compete at the NCAA Regional Championships in Spartanburg, S.C.
