Men's Soccer | September 19, 2023
Each week, USC Aiken will post notes. This week, USC Aiken men's soccer travels to North Georgia Wednesday before hosting Georgia Southwestern Saturday evening.
Just In Time
The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team opened PBC play last Wednesday by hosting Flagler with an early start time of 4 p.m. The Pacers narrowly managed to get the match in. During the second half, the teams faced a lightning delay. After resuming play, another lightning strike occurred with just under 10 minutes remaining. The teams decided to call the match at that point. The USC Aiken women's team was supposed to play at 7 p.m., but due to the weather that match was canceled.
On The Road Again
Head coach
Ike Ofoje's team hits the road again this week with a midweek match-up at North Georgia. The Pacers are 0-1-1 on the road this season. The squad scored both of its goals on the year away from home and will look to get back on track with a road contest this week.
Pushing Forward
USC Aiken has multiple student-athletes that can find the back of the net, which gives the team several options when pushing forward into the offensive third of the pitch.
Jose Rabadan and
Wynston Johnson each led the team with two shots against Flagler while
Fabian Avila and
Lucas Pegorer had one apiece. All have proven to be goal scorers at various points of their career, which gives the Pacers many options.
