2023 USC Aiken Men's Cross Country Schedule
AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken, in conjunction with head men's cross country coach
Marshall Leonard, is thrilled to announce the upcoming 2023 schedule.
The Pacers take part in five regular-season races prior to postseason competition.
Leonard's team begins the year Sept. 1 at the Elon Friday Night Lights meet. On Sept. 8, the team returns to North Carolina for the Blue Bear Invitational, which is hosted by Livingstone.
USC Aiken hits the road to Spartanburg, S.C., on Sept. 16 for the Converse Invitational. The team takes part in the Akiah McMillan Invitational, which is hosted by Columbia College, on Sept. 30.
The Pacers conclude the regular season at the Newberry Invitational on Oct. 13.
Leonard's team competes at the PBC Championship on Oct. 21, which will be held at the University of North Georgia. USC Aiken will make the return trip to Dahlonega on Nov. 4 for the NCAA Regionals.
"We are excited to kick off the season at the Elon Friday Night Lights race," Leonard stated. "Not only will this be a competitive environment, but night races are a joy to be part of. This season's schedule is full of competitive opportunities but also gives us the ability to see some great success. I am eager to see how the team responds to the training and steps up to the challenge of racing talented teams.
"The men's team is looking to build on the success that they saw last season. Last year, every male runner had personal bests by a minimum of 60. seconds each. With a year of training under their belt, they will see more improvements. Our incoming men will be coming in and pushing our top returners, which is exactly what I was looking for when I recruited them. I am excited to see their improvement throughout the season."
