The University of South Carolina Aiken had many thrilling moments throughout the action-packed 2022-2023 season. Whether it was on the diamond, the court, the course, the tee box or the pitch, PacerSports.com is going to relive some of those unforgettable highlights that defines the Pacers' spirit a sport at a time.
Head coach
Marshall Leonard's team began the season with a third-place finish at the Augusta Jaguar Invitational.
Julian Mendoza led the team an 8k time of 29:35.35 earing 16
th place.
At the second event of the year, the team garnered a second-place finish at the GMC Brickyard Invitational.
The Pacers finished eighth at the Newberry Invitational with the team's best time being clocked by
Joey Burdick (28:14.7) placing him 23
rd at the event.
USC Aiken had a pair of ninth place finishes at the Converse Kick-Off and Akiah McMillan Invitational.
With all of the successes of the season, the Asics Invitational stood out as the highlight of the season for the team. The team placed eighth out of 13 teams and every student-athlete but one ran a collegiate personal-best time. Mendoza ran a 27:50.82 that marked the top 8k time for the program since it was restarted. Burdick ran 28:21.69.
In the postseason, the Pacers finished seventh in the PBC Championship again led by Mendoza and his 28:22.3 effort. Mendoza and Burdick represented USC Aiken at the NCAA Southeast Regionals. On the 10k course, Mendoza posted a 37:18.36 mark and Burdick finished with a time of 38:41.38.

Juan Wiley picked up the PBC Sportsmanship Award.
