Each week, USC Aiken will produce notes. This week, the University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team plays four games. On Wednesday, the Pacers play Southern Wesleyan for the second time this season. This time, the game will be at home in Roberto Hernandez Stadium. Through the weekend, USC Aiken will play Georgia College and State University away in Milledgeville, Ga., in a three-game conference series.
Recapping Last Week

Michael Holder's team finished 1-4 last week after losing a pair of contests against Belmont Abbey and the first two games against Georgia Southwestern. The Pacers captured the series finale against the Hurricanes. USC Aiken is now 26-16 on the season and 18-6 in the PBC. They are in second place in the conference and three games behind Young Harris.
Tripp Belts Another
In game one against Belmont Abbey,
Nick Tripp collected two extra base hits with his seventh home run of the year and his seventh double. He is tied for sixth in the conference for home runs on the year. Tripp also hit for a single in the series finale against Georgia Southwestern.
Make It A Double
Jackson Hannon hit for three doubles this week. He is now tied for first in the conference with 15. His first double came in game two against Belmont Abbey. He added two more in the series finale win against GSW. He also belted a homer in game one of the series. For the week, Hannon averaged .316 on six-of-19 hitting.
Kaden Blankenship was second on the team in doubles this week with two. The first came in game one against the Hurricanes while the second came in the series finale. For the week, he went five-for-16 with two runs scored and two RBI.
Lucky Number Seven
Joseph Mozingo hit seven singles on 18 at bats across the five games closing out the week with a .389 average. He reached base in four out of the five games and saw time as the first basemen in all three games against Georgia Southwestern. Mozingo earned a 1.000 percent fielding percentage and 24 putouts.
Triple Stack
Josh Sharp hit his third triple of the season in the final game of the weekend to help guide the Pacers to a 7-1 win. He is in a four-way tie at the top of the leader board.
On The Hill
Bryce Bulls saw time on the mound for the second time in his career when he pitched a hit-less inning of relief in the away game against Belmont Abbey.
Jacob Fletcher added seven strikeouts to his season total of 58 in the opening game against GSW. He is seventh in the conference and fourth in strikeouts with batters looking with 18.
Inside The Numbers
Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 137-6 (67.8 percent) on Wednesdays. In Friday contests, they are 155-109 (58.7 precent), 356-240 (59.7 percent) in Saturday matchups and 214-155 (58 percent) on Sundays. During that same time, the team is 13-5 on April 19, 10-6 on April 21, 10-7 on April 22 and 11-11 on April 23.
Against The Opponents
USC Aiken is 2-1 all-time against Southern Wesleyan. The Pacers lost the most recent contest between the two squads in March. The two previous games were played in 2016 when the Pacers won both games by a combined 32-3 score.
Against the Bobcats of Georgia College and State, USC Aiken is 42-65. Last year's away series saw the Pacers win game one, but drop both games of the next day's doubleheader.
