AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is set to host the 26
th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate March 6-7.
The event will take place at the Palmetto Golf Club on a par-70, 6,617-yard course. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days will begin with shotgun starts. On Monday, the teams begin at 8 a.m. while Tuesday's start will be at 9 a.m.

This year's field includes USC Aiken, Davidson, Dartmouth, Francis Marion, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Mercer, Presbyterian College, Samford, South Carolina, Temple, VCU, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, and Wofford.
Last season, South Carolina won the event while the Pacers finished fourth. Virginia finished second and VCU finished third. Eleven teams that competed in last year's event are returning aside from head coach
Michael Carlisle's team.
USC Aiken last won the event in 2007, which was the team's third consecutive Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate title.
This year's line-up consists of
Oscar Abrahamsson,
Leonardo Bono,
Rory McDonald O'Brien,
Erick Olin and
Jonah Winter.
Abrahamsson and Bono finished in a tie for tenth a season ago.
Olin leads the team with a 71.8 stroke average. Bono is second at 73.2. Abrahamsson and Winter both sport 74.1 stroke averages while McDonald O'Brien has a 74.7 stroke average over four events.
