FAIRBURN, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's cross country team registered an eighth-place finish at the Asics Invitational.

Head coach Marshall Leonard's team was led by Julian Mendoza's 8k time of 27:50.82 for 38^th place. It marked the top 8k time for the program since it was restarted.

Patrick Davis finished in 28:11.59.  

Newcomer Joey Burdick's time of 28:21.69 was second best on the squad. He crossed the line in 44^th place. David Witt's mark of 29:19.31 was good enough for 55^th place.

Riley Campbell crossed the line in 30:11.47. He was 64^th.

Tyler Blowe's performance of 31:47.39 allowed him to cross in 73^rd place. Fellow newcomer Juan Wiley took home 79th place after finishing in 33:32.05.  

Every student-athlete with the exception of Witt ran a collegiate personal-best time.

Georgia Tech won the 13-team event.

The Pacers return to action Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Akiah McMillan Invitational, which is hosted by Columbia College.
