AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken softball team was recently recognized by the institution at the Student Life Leadership Banquet.
On Monday evening, USC Aiken head coach
Jaclin Poole received the Service Award, as presented by the school, on behalf of her team for the most community service hours as a group.
Throughout the year, Poole's team was visible throughout the year – on and off campus – while giving back to the school and community.
Her team assisted with a
campus-wide clean-up on Sept. 18. On Jan. 23, the Pacers spent the majority of the morning
cleaning up Robert M. Bell Parkway. In February, the softball team
volunteered with Cheryl's Kitchen in Augusta, Ga.
"While we strive to be the best possible athletes we can be, we also strive to be servant leaders, leading by example and putting others before ourselves," Poole said.
