COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's cross country team finished ninth at the 2021 Koala XC Classic Saturday morning.
The Pacers were led by rookie
Patrick Davis' tremendous 8k time of 28:25.7. He took 22
nd overall, narrowly missing out on a top-20 finish in a field that included 13 programs and individuals from Wofford. Davis' time marked a school record for the 8k event.
Fellow newcomer
David Witt also broke the 29:00 mark, crossing the line in 28:52.7 for 33
rd place. It was a personal-best time for him.
David Weidner and
Julian Mendoza posted solid times, taking 52
nd and 53
rd, respectively. Weidner crossed in 30:59.1 while Mendoza came home in 31:07.0.
Julian Salas also established a personal-best time, finishing in 34:08.8 for 70
th.
Kyle Ready took 72
nd in 34:20.1.
The Pacers return to action Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Georgia College Invitational.
