Setting Records
Kwajelin Farrar had a brilliant performance against Georgia Southwestern. In addition to her 20 points, Farrar snagged a school-record 19 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass. In two games against the Lady Canes this season, Farrar is averaging 24.5 points and 18 rebound a contest.
Dominating Defense
USC Aiken got off to a fast start at Georgia Southwestern. The squad outscored the home team 17-5 over the first quarter and held a 35-17 lead at the break. How dominant was the defense? The five points allowed marked the fourth-lowest points given up in a quarter by USC Aiken in school history. Additionally, the five points allowed in the first quarter were the second fewest ever allowed in the opening frame.
Two Double-Doubles
In the win over the Lady Canes, head coach
Mark Miller's team had a pair of student-athletes that earned double-doubles.
Kwajelin Farrar tallied her double-double with 20 points and 19 rebounds while
Alex Canady contributed 13 points and 11 boards for her double-double effort.
Bouncing Back
After a hard-fought loss at Francis Marion last Wednesday, the team bounced back for a nine-point victory at Georgia Southwestern. After being tied at 40-40, the Pacers reeled off 25 of the next 41 points for the win.
In The Standings
After the strong road win at Georgia Southwestern, the Pacers are 8-6 in league play. The team is in fifth place in the PBC standings, but it is just a mere one game out of fourth place for a coveted home game to open the PBC Tournament. The squad is also two games back from third place heading into the final three weeks of the regular season.
Inside The Numbers
This week, USC Aiken plays at Flagler on Wednesday, Feb. 12, before hosting Young Harris on Saturday, Feb. 15. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 121-115 (51.3 percent) in Wednesday games and 175-168 (51.0 percent) in Saturday contests. During the same time, the squad is 5-4 on Feb. 12 and 4-5 on Feb. 15.
Against The Opponents
This week, USC Aiken plays at Flagler on Wednesday, Feb. 12, before hosting Young Harris on Saturday, Feb. 15. The Pacers are 13-8 in the all-time series against the Saints and hold a 6-4 edge in the all-time series against the Mountain Lions.
