SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's cross country team put forth a solid effort at the season-opening meet.
The Pacers competed at the Eye Opener, which was hosted by USC Upstate. The 5k event was run at the Roger Milliken Center.
Sophie King led the way, taking 44
th after crossing the finish line in 24:21.7.
Multi-sport standouts
Courtney Strauss and
Teresa Franco Dias were 47
th and 48
th, respectively. Strauss finished in a time of 27:08.6 while Franco Dias raced across the line in 28:20.8.
Kendra Zavala placed 51
st in a time of 31:40.5.
The Pacers return to action Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Eagles XC Challenge.
