TEMPE, Ariz. – University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis standouts
Salvador Bandeira and
Antonio Sabugueiro were tabbed All-Americans for their doubles play, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The criteria for ITA All-America honors include finishing the season in the top 20 of the Oracle/ITA singles rankings and top 10 in the final Oracle/ITA doubles rankings.
Bandeira and Sabugueiro were second-team all-conference honorees. The dyad combined to go 17-6 in doubles action at the No. 1 slot.
The duo helped USC Aiken to a 19-4 overall ledger while guiding the team to a No. 3 national ranking in the final poll. The Pacers reached the Elite Eight for the first time in school history after claiming NCAA Tournament wins over No. 14 North Georgia, No. 6 Wingate and No. 29 Drury before falling to then-No. 15 Hawaii Hilo.
