AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team finished third in the final ITATennis.com national rankings, which were released this week.
The Pacers advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in the program's history after knocking off No. 29 Drury in the Sweet 16.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team concluded the season with a 19-4 overall ledger, including a 7-2 mark in PBC play. The team's lone losses came to No. 2 Columbus State (twice), then-No. 7 Flagler and No. 10 Hawaii Hilo in the Elite Eight.
In singles action,
Antonio Sabugueiro finished No. 40 nationally while
Salvador Bandeira climbed into the rankings at No. 73.
The tandem of Bandeira and Sabugueiro teamed up for a No. 4 national ranking in doubles action.
