Making History
On Thursday, Apr. 4, the USC Aiken women's tennis team bested Georgia College for the first time in the program's history. The Pacers won 4-3 against the nationally-ranked opponent.
Clinching The Match
Having trailed 3-2, USC Aiken knotted the match at 3-3. It came down to the No. 6 singles match and
Rebekka Heigermoser squared off against Jordan Bowie. The Pacers won in thrilling fashion. Heigermoser won the first set 6-4 before dropping the second 6-3. She rallied back for 7-6 win in the third set for the match.
Alice's Awesome Day
Junior
Alice Neves had a memorable afternoon. She and
Victoria Giannaccini squared off against Emila Richter and Jordan Bowie at the No. 2 doubles spot. The Pacers registered a 6-2 victory, helping the team take a 1-0 lead.
Nationally-Ranked Foe
Elena Bompieri had a tremendous afternoon. After teaming up with
Teresa Franco Dias for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, she squared off against No. 59 Emilia Richter in singles action. Bompieri, ranked No. 67, bested the Bobcat 6-4, 7-6 for the victory.

This week, USC Aiken hosts Young Harris on Thursday, Apr. 11 and North Georgia on Friday, Apr. 12. The Pacers are 33-28 (54.1 percent) in THursday matches and 54-47 (53.5 percent) all-time in Friday contests. The team is 4-5 on Apr. 11 and 1-4 on Apr. 12.
