FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 36 University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team lost a 4-1 decision to No. 40 Georgia College in the PBC Quarterfinals on Saturday.
The Pacers fall to 14-4 on the season while the Bobcats improve to 17-7.

Steve Dahm's team took an early 1-0 lead by snagging the doubles point. Behind stellar play from top-seeded
Elena Bompieri and
Teresa Franco Dias, the duo posted a 6-3 victory. Second-seeded
Victoria Giannaccini and
Alice Neves performed well and registered a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
With the score tied at 1-1,
Rebekka Heigermoser pushed her foe to extra points at No. 6, but lost 6-3, 7-5.
Edith Croda forced the first set to extra points at No. 5, but lost a 7-5, 6-4 decision.
Karina Blas and her opponent went into a tiebreaker in the first set and extra points in the second stanza, but GC managed to pull off a 7-6 (9-7), 7-5 win to clinch the match.
