FLORENCE, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis standout
Elena Bompieri picked up first-team all-conference honors, as announced by the league office Thursday.
Bompieri, a sophomore from Peschiera del Garda, Italy, finished the season with a 13-3 mark at No. 1 singles. She wrapped up PBC play with a 7-2 mark.
Bompieri shattered the school record for wins at No. 1 singles. She also becomes just the second USC Aiken standout to earn first-team honors (
Nadine Tusiama).
She helped guide the Pacers to a No. 36 national ranking and a No. 9 spot in the NCAA Region Rankings after finishing fourth in the PBC.
