Huntley's Huge Game
Scott Huntley, a Severna Park, Md., native, arguably had his best game as a Pacer in the 6-4 win over No. 7 Newberry. He registered three base hits and drove in a career-high three runs. He also scored once and stole a base.
Toppling A Top-10 Team
The USC Aiken baseball team bested No. 7 Newberry 6-4 last week, It marked the second victory this season over a top-10 team. On Saturday, Feb. 16, the Pacers downed No. 5 Florida Southern by a 5-4 ount.
Changing It Up
With no weekend series, head coach
Kenny Thomas allowed his weekend starters to pitch extended time in the win over the Wolves.
Mitch Spence worked five innings and struck out three.
Zach Rafuse worked 1.2 frames and struck out two. They dyad usually starts Friday and Saturday contests for the Pacers.
Cartrett's Solid Outing
Henry Cartrett had a solid outing in the win at No. 7 Newberry. He tossed the sixth and seventh innings and did not allow a base runner. Cartrett threw 33 pitches and struck out four over the six-out outing.
Awesome Austin
Newcomer
Austin Sandifer stepped onto the mound in a tough situation against Newberry. With the tying run at the plate, Sandifer forced the lone batter he faced into a fielder's choice to end the game. It marked the first save of Sandifer's young career.
Adding A Game
After the USC Aiken baseball team's home game against Wingate was cancelled due to the weather, the Pacers have added a home game against Paine on Tuesday, Apr. 23.

This week, USC Aiken hosts Newberry on Tuesday, Apr. 16 before heading to Lander on Thursday, Apr. 18, Friday, Apr. 19 and Saturday, Apr. 20. The team then hosts Catawba on Monday, Apr. 22. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 104-41 (71.7 percent) in Tuesday games, 62-33 (65.3 percent) in Thursday games, 136-90 (60.2 percent) in Friday contests and 325-213 (60.4 percent) in Saturday affairs. The team is 24-12 (66.7 percent) in Monday games. During the same time, the team is 13-7 on Apr. 16, 13-3 on Apr. 18, 12-5 on Apr. 19, 8-10 on Apr. 20 and 9-6 on Apr. 22.
