National Ranking
Last week, the Pacers managed to climb a pair of spots in the national rankings. The squad jumped to No. 36 from the previous ranking of No. 38.
Caging The Bearcats
The Pacers managed to pick up a 6-1 win at Lander last week for head coach
Steve Dahm. The squad jumped out to a 1-0 lead after winning two-of-three doubles matches. The squad never looked back, claiming five-of-six singles contests, including four in just two sets.
Tough Contest
After defeating Lander, the Pacers turned their attention to another nationally-ranked foe in Flagler, which was No. 28. USC Aiken dropped the contest by a score of 7-0, marking its second loss in three matches.
Closer Than The Score Said
Despite losing 7-0 to the Saints, the match was much closer. In doubles action, the tandem of
Elena Bompieri and
Teresa Franco Dias lost 7-6. In singles action, Bompieri lost a three-set match at No. 1 while
Karina Blas played her foe to extra points at No. 5.
Rebekka Heigermoser pushed her foe at No. 6.
Inside The Numbers
This week, USC Aiken hosts Georgia College on Friday, Apr. 5 and Queens on Monday, Apr. 8. The Pacers are 54-47 (53.5 percent) in Friday matches and 15-10 (60.0 percent) in Monday matches since the start of the program. The squad is 3-7 on Apr. 5 and 2-3 on Apr. 8.
Against The Opponents
This week, USC Aiken hosts Georgia College on Friday, Apr. 5 and Queens on Monday, Apr. 8. The Pacers are 0-23 in the all-time series against the Bobcats. However, the team holds an 8-3 ledger in the all-time series against the Royals.
