Throughout the 2019 season, the USC Aiken Athletic Communications office will provide weekly notes, giving all of Pacer Nation an in-depth look at the team.
Shutting Down The Hurricanes
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team swept the Hurricanes 7-0 last weekend. The team waste little time in singles action – taking each of the first two sets in all six contests.
Francesco Satta posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5.
10!
The USC Aiken men's tennis team rattled off 10 consecutive victories to star the 2019 campaign. It marked the program's best start in school history. After suffering a loss at No. 3 Columbus State, the Pacers return to action this week at 10-1 overall and 3-1 in league play.
Playing Tough
Despite the loss at Columbus State, the Pacers gave the Cougars all they could handle.
Tales Silva had match point before falling to the top-ranked player in Division II in three sets.
Francesco Satta pushed his foe to extra points at No. 5 as well.
Just Shy
USC Aiken saw its 10-match winning streak snapped. The mark was just shy of the program's 12-match winning streak, which occurred from Feb. 22, 1998-March 24, 1998.
Second Highest
With the loss that drops USC Aiken from the ranks of the unbeaten, the squad now has a .909 winning percentage on the season. It's the second-highest in the league – next to Columbus State, who currently sits at .929 with a 13-1 ledger.
