Bouncing Back
After dropping a mid-week game against Erskine and falling to Georgia Southwestern in the series opener, head coach
Kenny Thomas' team bounced back for a pair of huge wins over the Hurricanes, claiming the team's third series victory in league action in four tries.
Taking The Series
The USC Aiken baseball team lost the first game of the series against Georgia Southwestern by a 4-3 score. However, the Pacers rebounded with a total team effort and dominant pitching performances for victories of 8-1 and 8-3.
Schedule Change
This week, the USC Aiken – North Greenville contest on Wednesday was moved from a neutral site contest to a home game for the Crusaders. Game time has also been changed to a 4 p.m., start.
Extra Base Hits
In the second game of the series against Georgia Southwestern, USC Aiken pounded out four extra base hits. Two came off the bat from
Alex Mills, who blasted a double and a triple.
Conner Durden tallied a double while
Sean McQuillan tallied his first career round-tripper.
Bullpen Is Solid

Jacob Rye all worked an inning of relief on Saturday. Over the four frames they pitched, the Pacers gave up just one hit and one run. The hurlers only walked one batter as well.

This week, USC Aiken plays at North Greenville on Wednesday, March 20. The team travels to Columbus State for a three-game series on Friday, March 22, Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24. Since moving to Division II, the program is 131-57 (69.7 percent) in Wednesday games, 134-89 (60.1 percent) in Friday contests, 323-212 (60.4 percent) in Saturday contests and 191-138 (58.1 percent) in Sunday affairs. The squad is 10-8 on March 20, 13-5 on March 22, 14-5 on March 23 and 8-8 on March 24 during the same time.
