Balanced Attack

In the win over Emmanuel, five student-athletes had six or more kills. Alie Smith led the way with 10 kills while Christine Carroll, Kayla Duggan, Abbey Schad and Kelsey Spurlin notched six kills apiece.

Nearly Identical

Christine Carroll, Abbey Schad and Kelsey Spurling had nearly identical offensive statistical lines in the win over the Lions. Carroll had six kills in 15 attempts while hitting .267. Schad totaled six kills in 16 attempts while hitting .313. Spurlin posted six kills in 15 attempts for a .333 attack percentage.

Seeing The Court

After Alli Bell's sensational start to the match against Emmanuel (totaling 16 assists, three digs and three kills while hitting 1.000), Mallory Barash came in during the second frame and played the entire third set. She posted 11 assists, a block, a dig and registered her first career kill.

Career Highs

Last week, USC Aiken had a pair of student-athletes register career highs at UNC Pembroke. In the win against the Braves, senior setter Alli Bell dished out a career-high 56 assists (to go along with 16 digs for a double-double). The 56 assists in a four-set match is also tied for fourth-most in Division II this season. Christine Carroll posted a career-best 21 kills in the four-set win. It marks the most kills in a four-set match by a PBC player this season.

Records Were Made To Be Broken

In Saturday's win at Francis Marion, Rebecca Martinez, a two-time All-American, shattered the USC Aiken career record for digs. Previously, the record was 2,160. Halfway through the regular season, Martinez now has 2,180 career digs. For her career, Martinez has averaged 5.66 digs per frame.

Double-Doubles

In the win at UNC Pembroke, Alli Bell accounted for a double-double with 56 assists and 16 digs. Teammate Kelsey Spurlin notched her first career double-double effort with 10 kills and 16 digs.
 
Inside The Numbers

This week, USC Aiken plays Lincoln Memorial and Carson-Newman on Friday, Oct. 11, before taking on Lenoir-Rhyne and Mars Hill on Saturday, Oct. 12. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 188-121 (60.8 percent) in Friday contests and 226-141 (61.6 percent) in Saturday matches. During the same time, the team is 3-6 on Oct. 11 and 6-3 on Oct. 12.

Against The Opponents

This week, USC Aiken plays Lincoln Memorial and Carson-Newman on Friday, Oct. 11, before taking on Lenoir-Rhyne and Mars Hill on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Pacers are 7-3 in the all-time series against the Railsplitters. The squad is 9-4 in the all-time series against the Eagles. The Pacers are 12-4 in the all-time series against the Bears. The team holds an 11-2 all-time record against the Lions.
