Box Score GAFFNEY, S.C.--USC Aiken lost to Limestone College, 3-2, today in Gaffney, S.C. The Pacers fell to 6-8-0 on the season, while Limestone improved to 9-7-1 in 2002. After falling into a 2-0 deficit, the Pacers clawed back to tie the game, but a Limestone goal with just over five minutes remaining ended USCA's comeback.
The Pacers out shot Limestone, 17-13 and held the edge in corner kicks, 7-6. A costly first period mistake proved to be the difference in the game. At the 35:52 mark, the Pacers knocked the ball into their own goal, helping Limestone build the two-point advantage.
AJ Ikourou led the Pacers with three shots.
David Bullard (3) and
Mamadou Ndoye (7) each scored one goal for USCA.
Neil Berment assisted on the
Ndoye goal.
Juan Trujulo's goal at 84:55 gave Limestone the 3-2 lead, as they held on for their ninth win of the season.
The Pacers return home Monday for a match against Lees-McRae College at 4:00 p.m. Lees-McRae is the ninth ranked team in the Southeast Region. The match will be played at "Pacer Pit" on the campus of USCA.
