AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team netted a 6-3 victory over Augusta Tuesday afternoon in a league contest.
The Pacers are now 5-5 on the season and 2-4 against conference teams.
In doubles action, head coach
Steve Dahm's team registered a 2-1 lead. Top-seeded
Mathias Degardin and
Julien Tan combined for an 8-4 victory.
Antonio Sabugueiro and
Tales Silva, playing at the No. 2 slot, notched a hard-fought 8-6 win.
Dahm's squad garnered four victories in singles action to take the 6-3 win.
Sabugueiro tallied a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the No. 2 position. Tan, playing at No. 3, posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory.
Wojciech Adamek overcame a loss in the first set to post a 4-6, 66-2, 10-7 win at the No. 5 spot.
Silva was up 7-6 at the No. 6 slot before his opponent retired, giving him the win.
The Pacers return to action Thursday when they travel to Benedict for a 2:30 p.m., match.Â
